Favorite Friday | Our Team

You may not guess it from these photos of our team, but weddings are hard work! So when we get the chance to take a quick break and be a little silly, we take it! Not to worry, though – we don’t always run around like this 😉

One of our couples had a killer photo booth, and they let our coordinators {Shadow + Rachel} play with some props before the wedding.

Sneak Peek | Caitlin + Alex

? Meet the new Mr. and Mrs. Morehead! ?

This wedding was truly a family affair. The love these two receive from their families was overwhelmingly beautiful to see. The more we got to know each other the more I learned that they appreciated not only each other’s quirks but their strengths. Caitlin and Alex couldn’t be more perfect for each other. Planning + styling this wedding was such a joy and reminded me why I love what I do.

5 Trends from Bridal Fashion Week

Bridal Fashion Week may have wrapped up earlier this month, but we’re still drooling over the gorgeous gowns that made their way down the runway. Check out our fashion forward coordinator’s {Miss Shadow} five favorite trends from this years shows!

Capes – No veil necessary here. Capes were all the rage on the runway for Spring. Whether you opt for a long bridal cape or a short caplet, you will add a modern element that is sure to make a statement. Best part, just like a veil you can remove it to reveal hidden details of your gown.{Left to right: Romona Kevenza, Naeem Khan and Monique Lhuillier}

V-Necklines – Although a deep v-neckline can seem a bit risqué, it actually can flatter the upper body and elongate a petite or short torso. Designers have mixed them up with everything from delicate lace to illusion-covered cuts to embellished fabrics to offer a soft feminine style. Pro tip: Keep that Hollywood Fashion tape handy. {Left to right: Anne Barge, Rivini and Lela Rose}

Floral – Floral has never been so prominent as they were in almost every collection for next Spring. Designers incorporated florals in several ways from floral lace to 3-D to embellished appliqués and we could be more excited to see not only floral but color as well. {Left to right: Marchesa, Jenny Packham and Ines Di Santo}

Sheer Illusion – Think sultry and sweet and this season, designers played with sheer elements ranging from embellished, modesty cutout panels to full-on see-through embroidered tops and dresses. If you want something more daring than sheer is a fabulous choice as it is revealing but still elegant. {Left to right: Ines Di Santo, J Mendel and Berta}

Off the Shoulder – Move over Strapless, shoulder details are back! Modest-meets-sexy. Designers did some incredible updates to the classic trend, including embroidered illusion necklines, floral detailing, and sleeves with peekaboo slits. {Left to right: Reem Acra, Francesca Miranda and Christos}

Favorite Friday | Badgley Mischka

We’re so excited for our friends at Calvet Couture Bridal – not only have they relocated to a larger {and even more glamorous} shop in Winter Park, but they’ve also started carrying a luxurious line of bridal shoes from designer Badgley Mischka. Now, I’m not one to don heels on a regular basis, but for these shoes I’d gladly make an exception!

My fav from their bridal line – Cadence. This strappy heel is so feminine and features a stunning embellishment on the back.

Styled Shoot | Rustic Romance

Oh, inspiration shoots, how we love thee. Partnering with amazing creative professionals and dreaming up styled shoots is such fun – and we love sharing all the inspiration with our clients! For this shoot, we headed to a secluded wooded area that was drapped in Spanish moss and had just the right amount of sunlight. It proved to be the perfect spot for a rustic + romantic inspiration shoot!

Romantic + Rustic Wedding Inspiration

If there’s one {okay, maybe two} things we’ll never get enough of at weddings, it’s stationery + florals. The hand calligraphed invitation suite by Paula Lee Calligraphy was so utterly romantic and, paired with the stunning flowers from Fleur & Lumiere, added a feminine touch to the rustic setting.

Let’s talk about this cake! It’s pure confectionery perfection, as are most of the treats that come out of Le Petit Sweet. One of our favorite design aspects of their cakes is the tall tiers they feature – it’s such a sleek and refined look!

Here’s my one true love, again {that stunning dress}! Check out the full feature on this Saint Isabel gown here.

Tidbits + Tips | Be Bold

When it comes to choosing colors + decor, don’t be afraid to go bold! Featuring fresh color palettes and patterns lends a unique look to the decor and can really showcase the bride + groom’s personalities. One of our couples, Christine and Sean, used a funky blend of steampunk details with vintage rentals to create a look that fit their style perfectly!

Social Lounge | RW Events

The couple chose to mix vintage and modern by using eye catching stripes, vibrant shades of red + purple, and lots of fun little details {like that vintage rotary phone}.

Favorite Friday | Saint Isabel Bridal

Oh my gosh, I think I’m in love! My heart skipped a beat when I laid eyes on the gown featured in one of our recent styled shoots {tune in for this post next week}. Let me tell you, it’s a beauty! The detail work and tulle give this dress such a romantic and ethereal feel, and the low back is just an added bonus.

It’s not often I come by gowns with flutter sleeves, but I sure love when I do!

Saint Isabel | Faye GownThough this is by far my favorite gown from Saint Isabel Bridal, be sure to check out my second and third favs – Skye and Maelle – they’re almost as perfect as this one 😉

Real Wedding | Jessica + Casey

We just love spring time – blooming flowers, pretty pastels, and lots of weddings! Our coordination clients Casey + Jessica incorporated both lovely florals and a color palette of delicate shades of pink and green into their Cypress Grove event.
The morning started out with the gals primping and prepping in the bridal suite, while the guys arrived later in the afternoon.

Once the bride was all dolled up, she and her groom met for their first look in the rose garden. It’s one of our favorite spots for a first look at Cypress Grove, and Jessica + Casey’s private moment there was so sweet!

Lakeside Ceremony | Cypress Grove Estate House

A simple, yet elegant, reception was held in the amphitheater, and let me tell you, this group LOVED to dance! They enjoyed a fun filled evening under the stars while breaking it down on the dance floor!

RW Chronicles | Fashion Show

Our team at Luxmore Grande Estate was thrilled to host a bridal fashion show for Calvet Couture Bridal – I mean, who wouldn’t be excited about gathering with vendor pals, sipping a little bubbly, and swooning over gorgeous bridal gowns!? Models sashayed and twirled through the ballroom, showing off the intricate details of gowns from some of our favorite designers – Hayley Paige, Amsale, and Claire Pettibone.

Favorite Friday | Bridal Bouquets

Did you know that bridal bouquets were once mainly created from herbs and spices? It’s said these were used to keep evil spirits away as the bride + groom entered into a new season of life together. We’re definitely glad that bouquets have evolved over the years {although some herbs still look simply stunning in bouquets} because our team loves all things floral! And when it comes to picking out the perfect blooms, there are a few a few styles that we adore for just about every wedding!

Cascade {pictured above left} – if you’re looking to bring the drama, then this bouquet style is for you! These feature a “waterfall” shape, with flowers or greenery cascading from underneath.

Hand Tied {pictured above right} – my favorite of the bouquet styles, these feature a loose bundle of flowers bound together with ribbon. I love the organic and relaxed vibe these bouquets have – they remind me of fresh flowers picked right from the garden. Hand tied bouquets also look lovely with small berries and herbs incorporated 🙂

Arm Sheaf {pictured above left} – also known as presentation style, this bouquet incorporates long stemmed flowers that are cradled in the arm. These are a great option for very modern or chic affairs.

Round {pictured above right} – the quintessential bridal bouquet! Always elegant and somewhat traditional, the round bouquet works with just about every flower type you can imagine. Stems for this style of bouquet are evenly cut and tightly bound, usually with ribbon or lace.

Vintage Styled Shoot | Highland Manor

Highland Manor is a private home turned special event venue, and one that we love for couples wanting a classic vintage feel for their wedding. The venue boasts stunning grounds with one of the most amazing oak trees I’ve ever seen – it’s draped in Spanish moss and is just oh, so romantic! The manor and it’s grounds made the perfect backdrop for a vintage inspired photo shoot we styled a few months back.

Vintage Garden Inspired Wedding StationeryThese colorful calligraphed invitations {from The Invitation Lounge} remind me of the good ol’ days of beautiful hand written letters, a perfect element to incorporate into a vintage inspired soirée.

Another fun detail – a vintage brooch adorning the bouquet {ask your grandmother if she’d lend one as your “something borrowed”}.

Vintage Inspired Outdoor Intimate WeddingPicture above: Cole {whitewashed table}, Alexi {vintage dining chairs}

Everything about this intimate setup makes my heart flutter – the sunshine peeking in through the trees, the lush florals + greenery {from Lee Forrest Design}, and the vintage china + colored glassware! And don’t get me started on the floral + accent pieces for the dining chairs… they add even more romance to this already darling display!

Favorite Friday | Fabiola Capo Bridal Millinery

We met the lovely Fabiola of Fabiola Capo Bridal Millinery several months back, and we’ve since had the pleasure of incorporating some of her pieces in styled shoots! She’s a local artisan {based in Orlando} who hand crafts each stunning headpiece, fascinator, hat, veil, and accessory in her atelier.

One of my favorite pieces from her collection – the Norvège Crown, pictured above {left}.

Whether it’s adding a touch of sparkle or a unique style, we love her designs for brides that want that little something extra for their bridal look!
