Planning Tips // 30 Day Wedding Checklist

Planning tips for the days leading up to your wedding.

If you’ve met me, you know that I am all about simplicity and organization. Whether that means decluttering my work or personal space, planning out goals for the month, or just taking a day to refresh and reorganize. I’m a planner at heart and I thrive on schedules and knowing what the plan is. So putting together a checklist of wedding planning tips is right up my alley. 😉 This planning tip checklist is certainly not exhaustive but does include the essentials:

Four Weeks Out
  • Apply for your marriage license {can’t get married without one ?}. Florida marriage licenses are actually valid for 60 days. While you could apply for this a bit earlier, I recommend waiting until about a month out so it doesn’t get misplaced.
  • Write your vows {if doing your own}. Give yourself time to really think about what you want to say during your ceremony. We love these his + hers vow books from Foxblossom Co. so they can be kept as keepsakes!
  • Deliver any specific song requests {or do not play requests} to your DJ or band.
Three Weeks Out
  • Finalize RSVP’s. This is a great task for your bridesmaids. ? Have them run through your invite list and call anyone who hasn’t submitted an RSVP.
  • Confirm ceremony details with your officiant. Be sure to discuss what will happen during the ceremony {i.e. unity candle, ring warming, etc.} and review any readings and such. Pro tip: your officiant should do a full run through of the ceremony at your rehearsal.
  • Finalize any printed materials and favors . Now that you have your final guest count, confirm how many escort cards, menus cards, programs, etc. will be needed. If your favors are edible, wait until a day or two prior to the wedding to have delivered.
  • Make sure groomsmen submit their measurements and schedule a time to pick-up their suits/tuxes.
  • Purchase bridal party gifts. I LOVE gifting, and our new store, Miscellaneous Market, has so many cute items to choose from {including gifts for gents}!

Two Weeks Out
  • Confirm seating chart. Once all of your RSVP’s are in you can confirm how many guest tables you’ll need and who will be seated where.
  • Submit final numbers to vendors. This will include your caterer, florist, rentals and any other vendor that needs a head count.
  • Finalize the day-of timeline with your DJ and/or wedding planner.
  • Attend your final dress fitting! Don’t forget to bring your day-of undergarments, veil, accessories, and bridal shoes to make sure the full look is picture perfect.
One Week Out
  • Create a “getting ready” timeline. Provide a copy to your bridal party so they know where to be and when.
  • Pick up your bridal gown. Make sure it’s stored in a breathable garment bag and away from any clutter.
  • Pack your wedding night bag. A change of clothes/shoes and toiletries are a must!
  • If you’re honeymoon immediately follows your wedding, be sure to pack a honeymoon bag. This checklist from The Knot covers just about everything you’ll need!
  • Drop off day-of items to your wedding coordinator. They will typically take on the responsibility of delivering these items to your venue on wedding day.
The Day Before
  • Pamper yourself! Get a mani-pedi, massage, and a good night’s rest – just avoid facials and anything else that may cause skin irritation or inflammation.

Our team hopes this planning tips checklist will help you relax on the days leading up to your wedding!

Kim

Bohemian Inspired | The Acre Orlando

Bohemian Tablescape at The Acre Orlando

Our bohemian brides love The Acre Orlando, almost as much as we do for weddings + social events. After all, what’s not to love.

The space below is their Mirror Patio – it’s covered with ivy walls complete with outdoor fireplace. Our design team added a macrame chandelier above the feasting table. Our feasting table was dressed with Shibori inspired linen from Nuage Designs  and an array of eclectic centerpieces.

We’ve been obsessed with shades of blue for quite some time – naturally, we were excited when the chosen palette included textiles (full of texture) in warm shades of blue. The table arrangements featured gold cacti, terrariums, blue pottery filled vases protea and exotic wild flowers. We decided to keep the table design eclectic by blending wood table chargers with crystal coupes and sleek flatware.

***did you peep the hanging macrame in the “windows” – it was a perfect accent to their ivy wall. When designing, our stylist will help you enhance and bring out the natural elements of your chosen venue. You know, like hanging macrame in open spaces.

This bohemian inspired tablescape featured the following rentals: captain tables, macrame chandelier, french country chairs, and blue vases. Our friends at Treasury Rentals provided the wood chargers, flatware and glassware. Stationery was provided by Andi Mejia Designs.

Our girl, Lesley, with Flowers by Lesley whipped up the floral and it was captured by The Hendricks.

Real Wedding // Melissa + Jen

We’ll admit it – blogging our events is something we need to get better with. Why not start with a few of our favorite events over the past couple of years! First up, Melissa + Jen’s hip wedding reception.

These ladies were some of the coolest we’ve worked with in a long time. Between their taste in fashion, floral, music and food – I felt a personal invite to the wedding would have been acceptable since we were long lost friends 🙂

Random: Can you believe this image below was taken at Cypress Grove Estate House? We love when photographers capture the property’s uniqueness. I’m sure you’re wondering where this is located –  it’s to the left of the gazebo, along the path, past the trees… (sounds like fairy tale directions, huh ;))

Getting Ready/The First Look

Back to their wedding  – Let’s start by breaking all the traditions! Not only did they see each other prior to the ceremony, they got ready together at Grand Bohemian Hotel. Watching Melissa and Jen, through the lens of Gian Carlo Photography, help each other with hair, makeup, polish and everything in between was so heart warming and exciting. The love these ladies have for each other is a pure joy to witness.

The Wedding Party

It was inevitable that their wedding party would be just as cool as them – these ladies and gents exude a cool and confident demeanor. Their personalities were reflective, not only in the dresses and ties they wore, but the floral bouquets and boutonnieres too. Oh, and did you notice the bride’s bouquets and how uniquely different they are.

Decor + Floral

Ain’t no party like a Cypress Grove party, cause a Cypress Grove party don’t stop (until 10pm, that is – silly noise ordinance). Not only was the music a priority, the decor was at the top of the list too. They layout included a couple of vintage social lounges (complete with cigars), family style seating, and so many little details.
