Favorite Friday | Mancrates

I always have the hardest time coming up with gift ideas for guys – that’s why I was super excited when I stumbled across Man Crates! They don’t offer your run-of-the-mill gifts like ties, watches, cologne, and other “traditional” gifts. Their crates come with things guys really like – food, drinks, and games, lol. Two of my favs from their huge list of offerings are the hot sauce making kit and pit master crate {they also have one for bacon lovers}, which could be a fun date night after the wedding. These would make a great gift for your hubby on wedding day, or even as groomsmen gifts!

Tidbits + Tips | Trust Your Vendors

We can’t stress enough how important it is to have a good vendor team, and once you’ve put that team together don’t be afraid to put your trust in them! Remember, this isn’t their first rodeo and they’ll know from experience what’s going to work best for your event and what’s not. One of the biggest topics that come up between vendors and clients is the weather, and as much as we wish we could control it, this is something that we always encourage clients to trust their vendors with:

The rain call – venues and wedding planners are the best people to talk to about back-up plans and rain calls. Your venue rep will be most familiar with the weather patterns in their area, so if they’re pretty sure it’s going to rain, there’s a good chance that it will. Take their advice and change to Plan B for your layout, whether that’s moving the event inside or under a tent. If the weather clears up, you can still take photos outdoors even if you can’t move the event.

Seasonal temperatures – talk to your florist about the types of flowers you’d like and make sure you provide your wedding date up front. Certain flowers don’t do well in particular climates – for example, hydrangea wilt very quickly in the heat. So if you love these flowers the florist will need to plan to keep them refrigerated right up until they need to be set out. Even then, they may recommend using chilled water in the vases to help them last longer, or they might suggest another flower similar to hydrangea that will last longer.

While you’re certainly not obligated to take the advice of your vendors, remember that they are vested in the success of your event and they want to help you have the best day possible =)

Favorite Friday | Coachella Vibes

Don’t get us wrong, we love a romantic, traditional lace gown, but these boho-chic styles are giving them a run for their money! These laid back gowns are perfect for the bride wanting something simple + fun, but still elegant. And those floral crowns + headpieces just add that extra touch of bohemian flair!

RW Chronicles | Picnic in the Park

Earlier this spring our team member, Cara {the sales manager at Cypress Grove}, hosted a luncheon for some of her vendor pals. It was a great way for vendors to take some time out from a busy wedding season to relax and enjoy the spring weather!

“Being an introverted extrovert, I knew I wanted to host something small but still fun. My office overlooks the gorgeous grand lawn at Cypress Grove Estate House, so a ‘Picnic in the Park’ was a perfect fit! Some of my vendor pals {new and old} came to spend the afternoon catching up, enjoying sandwiches and soda pop, playing games, and cooling off with some yummy Jeremiah’s Italian ice {this was a favorite among all the vendors}.

I kept things casual by using bench style seating and adding little pops of color with a gingham table runner + simple floral in milk glass vases. It turned out to be a fun and relaxed event!”

Featured Inventory | Fern

We just loving adding new pieces to our inventory, and these bad boys are no exception – Fern is actually two walls that can be used individually or together for a larger backdrop {pictured below}. He makes a great backdrop for ceremonies {especially if you want to add greenery + floral in an indoor space}, sweetheart tables, and even social lounges.

Favorite Friday | Le Petit Sweet

Le Petit Sweet is a boutique bakery in Mt. Dora, and while they offer lots of petite desserts {hence the name ;-)} they also dream up stunning wedding cakes. I’m obsessed with their signature tall tiers – so modern and sleek!

Geometric shapes, gold leaf, and the marble effect on fondant add so many unique elements!
