Bridal Show Madness

Our favorite part of engagement season is participating in bridal shows and showcases. It’s an amazing opportunity for us to style some of our favorite pieces and wow the attendees with inspirational decor. A few weeks ago we participated in the Florida Wedding Expo along with our vendor partners Treasury Rentals and Flowers by Lesley.

Special thanks to Sterling Photography for the images:

The Ceremony Space

The highlight for this lounge was the Hunter Sofa + the floral ring

The Table-scapes

Featured Inventory :: Hedge Walls

If you haven’t seen our hedge walls you are missing out! These greenery walls are one of our office manager’s favorite pieces – they feature lovely emerald greenery and are so versatile! Pair them up to create a custom ceremony backdrop or use them for a fun photo opp; the possibilities are endless!

RW Events :: behind the brand

When I started RW Events (many, many years ago) I wasn’t sure of the direction I’d take and never imagined my little company developing into the brand it is today.

We thought our target market would be corporate and social events. Three months after opening, our first client was an engaged couple with a complicated family life and limited budget. We worked our magic to make their wedding a huge success. The lessons I learned from this wedding:

  1. No matter the budget, every bride deserves HER dream wedding
  2. DIY is NOT for me
  3. Comfortable heels are not just for grannies, lol
  4. I didn’t charge enough for my time
  5. I needed a team

These lessons didn’t deter me, it fueled my drive. Following each event, I would make a list of things I did well and areas for improvement. By the time we hit our one-year anniversary, we had our first part-time employee… and the rest is history!

Our Creative Manager, Dede Cowart, wanted to show the growth of RW Events and worked closely with the talented Andi Mejia, to illustrate our story. And YES, we intentionally left out the failures, lol.

Macramé Madness

Macramé is a unique lace-like textile created by knotting or “hitching” cords, so naturally it makes the perfect decor for a bohehiam wedding {get it, because you’re “tying the knot” or “gettin’ hitched” ;-)}! This textile has been around since the thirteenth century and is popping up all over the wedding world. It’s typically used for items like tablecloths, bedspreads, and jewelry, but our client, Kendall, got creative and incorporated two macramé pieces into her wedding – one as a ceremony backdrop and the other as a photo backdrop. Macramé is traditionally crafted from fibers like cotton, hemp, and jute, so it can be dyed to match your color palette or left natural for that classic boho look.

Fun-fact: Did you know the word macramé in Arabic, migramah, means fringe {referring to the decorative fringe typically found in macramé designs}?
