Vendor Spotlight | Kim Go Goes Behind The Lens of Her Creative Mind

When we think of Kim Go, we think of three things:

      • Good vibes
      • Authenticity
      • Vintage feels

She is a master of capturing raw emotion in every single shot she takes. She strives to make sure that every moment she captures is full of love and joy. Based in Orlando, FL but you can catch her on a flight real quick traveling.

Kim has worked at Luxmore countless times and we took the time to get some insight into her photography style and favorite moments here.

How would you describe your photography style?

“My photo style is very candid and carefree! I don’t typically like to have my couples in super-posed stances, so my client galleries are always filled with genuine candids. My editing style tends to be on the warmer side, with hints of grain for that vintage feel! Grainy b&w edits are huge for me, so there’s always a handful of those in every gallery I send out!”

Favorite spots at our Luxmore

“Luxmore is such a big venue, it’s definitely hard to choose just one spot. But if I had to, I’d say the library room is one of my favorites. I love how versatile it is, and how we’re able to transform the area with subtle decor chances. The front entrance of the venue with the fountain is a very close second – it gives “Gatsby” vibes, which became the inspiration behind one of the styled shoots I did there!”

What was your favorite shoot at Luxmore?

“The Classic Thanksgiving Inspired Styled Shoot that I hosted at Luxmore back in 2021 has been one of my favorites! Ironically, this shoot was designed, planned, and put together within a matter of days, but the outcome blows me away every time. The vendor list was very strong for this shoot, which is why I think it turned out so well. The elements that each vendor brought ended up blending together so well!”

April Showers | The Rain Plan at Luxmore Grande Estate

A Gorgeous Alternative

Rain on your wedding day is apparently good luck.  While that’s up for debate, one thing we know for sure is that the rain plan spaces at Luxmore Grande are equally as gorgeous as our outdoor ceremony spaces! After all, weddings are stressful enough without having to feel the disappointment of having a not-so-photo-worthy ceremony spot as your only option.

Couples at Luxmore have two stunning, indoor ceremony locations to choose from:

The Estate Room

The Estate Room accommodates up to 80, and has a stunning {faux} fireplace, serving as the perfect spot to add florals and greenery. This room also features two sets of bay windows, another great backdrop for ceremonies!

Grande Ballroom

For groups over 80, the Grande Ballroom is the perfect space. Featuring three chandeliers and more bay windows {can you say great lighting!?}, the ballroom makes for a stunning indoor space. Post ceremony, guests exit for cocktail hour and our team flips the room for the reception. The addition of entryway draping ensures guests don’t see the set up and breakdown and also adds a touch of elegance to the space.

Ceremony facing the wall adjacent to the bay windows.

The Flip

Cocktail hour on rainy days is located on the front patio and in the foyer, library and parlor. Guests stay dry and get to enjoy the unique rooms inside the Estate!

Of course we’re biased and think our indoor spaces are the best, but would you believe that lots of couples choose to host an indoor ceremony regardless of the weather? One of the perks of a Luxmore wedding is not having to worry about a tent: you’ll know the wedding will be gorgeous no matter what!

We were so thrilled when Cara + Jon reached out about hosting their emerald & gold wedding at Luxmore! In case you don’t know, Cara was actually part of the RW Events team a few years back. So hosting her wedding was such a special treat for us =)

Bride and Groom after the ceremony

It’s funny, when you work in the wedding industry, you get a good idea of what you want for your own wedding well before it comes to fruition 😉 Cara had always talked about doing emerald & gold wedding colors, and she did just that! She hit the nail on the head with her rock star vendor team and choosing the perfect details for the soiree!

The Reception

Their neutral reception decor looks so stunning at Luxmore, and compliments the bride’s personal style so well; classic + elegant. To mix things up a little, they incorporated a fun combo of traditional rounds with our Wesley Farm Tables. The white floral and ivory linen really make the farm tables and gold accent decor pop!

Pro tip: to be more cost-effective, repurpose items if you can! The couple’s arbor was used for the ceremony and they also used it as a sweetheart table backdrop.

Lighting | Creating an Atmosphere

Lighting | Market lighting drapes the amphitheater at Cypress Grove Estate house

In case you didn’t already know, we’re design junkies 😉 We love working with clients and their vendors to create an atmosphere + aesthetic for their special day!

Creating a cohesive look is one of the most important aspects of any event. Think about it… even if you + your gal pals are heading to brunch or planning the next girl’s night out, you stalk all the hot spots in town on social media. And we bet you’ll choose the one that has the best overall aesthetic! We all want those insta worthy pics, right!? The same goes for your wedding – creating an atmosphere pulls everything together and gets you those gorgeous pics you’ve been dreaming of!

One of the most important details in creating an atmosphere is – you guessed it, lighting! The right lighting can make your guests feel relaxed and even excited + energized. Think romantic market lighting + candles for an evening meal and then get those guests dancing with fun, color uplights!

These enhancements can take a space from drab to fab in seconds, and create the aesthetic you’re looking for. So, if the question comes to mind, whether or not to add that extra string of market lights or perfectly placed up-lights behind your sweetheart table… we say “Go for it!” You’re going to look your best, so give your event space the glow up it deserves!

The Perfect Napkin Fold for Your Wedding

An often overlooked detail when it comes to weddings is the napkin fold. The right one can give your tablescape that little something extra. There are lots of options and we’re sharing a few of our favorites!

Menu Card Napkin Fold

The menu card napkin fold is the quintessential fold. It works for just about any meal style and there are so many variations! Have a taller menu card? Opt for an elongated fold to fit the card properly. We also love the “layered” style. It still accommodates a menu card (or thank you card, fresh herb sprig, etc.) and adds a touch more dimension to the tablescape.

Images: Laura K Moore Photography, Molliner Photography, Jordan Weiland Photography

The Knot

We’re seeing more and more couples opt for “The Knot” napkin fold. Maybe it’s the name (tying the knot 😉) or maybe it’s the fun style it adds!

Image: The Lemons Photography

Custom Tie

Another favorite is the custom tie or napkin ring option. This is great if you want to add an extra pop of color, a hint of sparkle, or mixed metal to the design. Pro tip: have your napkins delivered a few days early so your bridal party or coordination team can tie them ahead of time. Believe us, your caterer will thank you for all the time saved!

Horizontal Charger Wrap Napkin Fold

If you’ve opted to feature chargers as part of your tablescape, a fantastic option for your napkin fold is the horizontal charger wrap. It’ll help keep napkins securely in place (be mindful of wind if you’re having an outdoor wedding) and can be folded to accommodate a place card or menu card.

Images: Emma Anne Photography, The Heims Photography, Shauna + Jordon Photography

Drape Fold

Last but not least is the drape fold. We don’t see this featured quite as often, but it looks lovely in photos and can be used to highlight a favor, flatware, and more!

Decided on your favorite fold? Now it’s time to choose your napkin! Check out all the fabric options from one of our favorite vendors, Over the Top Linen!

Summer Floral Inspiration

Summer Floral | Greenery and White Floral

Just like clothing, flower arrangements tend to get a bit brighter in the summer. Whether you’re picking your color palette or summer floral first, it’s important to know which types of flowers are in season on your wedding day. Some of our go to flowers for summer arrangements are Peonies, Roses, Anemone, Larkspur, Queen Anne’s Lace, and Stock. Check with your florist (we know plenty!) for the best blooms in your wedding month and build from there! From the photos below, you can tell we love a pop of yellow!

Small Arrangements

Small arrangements can still make a big impact! Lining farm tables with small arrangements of large blooms can be just as gorgeous as having large centerpieces!

Summer Floral

Mixed Vases

Pedestal vases are a client favorite and work well on round or rectangular tables. They’re also a great way to incorporate a metallic or wooden texture you’re featuring in other areas of your décor! And they make a big statement without taking up too much real estate on your tables!

Create dramatic height without obstructing views! These wooden centerpiece stands allow for different focus points throughout the reception space without keeping guests from being able to see the person across from them.

Don’t Forget the Classics

Classic white and green centerpieces are stunning in every single season. We love how different types of greenery, vases, and heights are incorporated into this overall design! The floral takes center stage in the room and plays off the natural light pouring in from the bay windows.

Real Talk // Doyinsola + Dunell’s Cultural Wedding

We love weddings – from the design to the little details, and everything in between! One thing we love about weddings is working with couples from different backgrounds and learning about their cultures. Doyinsola + Dunell held their multi-cultural wedding at Luxmore Grande Estate and it was such fun experiencing their big day with them!

How did you meet?

We met as first-year law students at Penn State Law. Because we had a lot of mutual friends we knew of each other but didn’t necessarily speak. As time went on we started hanging out one on one and the rest is history.

Were there any unique elements you incorporated?

I’m Nigerian and my husband is Haitian-American and I think we did an awesome job celebrating both our cultures. On the Friday night before our wedding, we had a traditional Yoruba Engagement ceremony where our entire families met and formally gave their approval and blessings to our union. Additionally, as music and food are very important in our respective cultures, we made sure we had some Nigerian and Haitian dishes for our guests and danced the night away to Konpa and Afro-beats.

What made you choose your venue?

I like to think that my style, especially for special events, is very classic and timeless. I want to look at my wedding pictures decades from now and still appreciate the aesthetics of that day. However, it was important the venue was charming and full of character. Luxmore checked all the boxes. From the stunning wallpaper in the parlor to the quirky library and the grandiose chandeliers, it’s truly a magnificent building. Did I mention it’s also really practical? The bridal suite is huge and there was so much parking for our guests.

What factors did you consider when choosing your vendor team?

We were an out of town couple so it was important that our vendors were efficient without needing to be micro-managed. This meant finding a team of people that we clicked with and understood our vision without numerous meetings. It was also extremely important that our vendors were diverse and small business owners. Looking back on the wedding that’s one of the things we’re most proud of.

Photos: Kiyah C Photography

Any planning tips you’d like to share with other couples?

Be proactive about setting aside time to not talk about the wedding. It seems counterintuitive but wedding planning can honestly take over your lives and relationships, and you can lose sight of what’s important. So once in a while, (i.e., as often as you can) do things not wedding related.  Also, compromise. Two months post-wedding you won’t care about the thing that you’re digging in your heel about.

Kim

Real Talk // Kristina + James

This sweet couple met about three and a half years ago; Kristina was looking for a roommate and James turned out to be the perfect match in more ways than one ?

Photos: Vine & Light Photography

How did you meet?

“We met in New York in January of 2016. I was looking for a roommate to rent the second bedroom of my apartment in Chelsea. I posted an ad for a roommate on Craigslist and James answered the ad. He was moving from London to New York and needed a place to stay. We met up and I gave him a tour of the apartment. He loved the place and we got along instantly. Less than a year later, we were together and not too long after that, we were engaged! If you ask him how we met, he would simply say Craigslist, which has definitely gotten us some strange looks along the way!”

Images captured in the Estate Room, the Library, and the Parlor

What made you choose Luxmore as your venue?

“We loved the venue the moment we stepped inside. It sold itself. Our ideal venue was an outdoor wedding and the space outside was perfect. With Florida weather being as unpredictable as it is we needed to feel good about getting married in the backup space the venue had. The room the Luxmore presented to us was just as beautiful as the outdoor space which made us feel it was the perfect place for us.”

Rentals :: Gold Rimmed Chargers | Mahogany Chiavari Chairs
Cake ::

What was your design inspiration?

“We both had the same idea for the wedding decor which made things much easier. White and ivory with touches of silver and gold. Simple, elegant, classic! It turned out to be everything we envisioned. “

What was your favorite part of the event?

“When my new husband sang to me! And also the cake! He would say the open bar lol.”

Image captured in the Library

What factors did you consider when choosing your vendor team?

“Reviews, reviews, reviews! It was important for us to hear what other couples had to say. It really influenced our decisions when we chose our team. I would also say communication. Since we had to plan the wedding remotely, it was extremely important to us that our vendors were able to help us via phone and face time. “

Portraits | Southern Wedding

It’s the final week of our mini-series on a luxurious southern wedding inspired shoot we hosted at Luxmore Grande Estate. Our little hearts are so excited to share the final details with you! So far, we’ve talked about welcoming your guests with a fun station, the aesthetics of the ceremony, how to deck out the reception space, and all about the little details. To finish us off, we’re sharing about the beauty of portraits!

Photos: JP Pratt, Floral: Flowers by Lesley, Fashion: Solutions Bridal, Beauty: Laura Reynolds Artistry

As essential as a well designed ceremony + reception are, it’s just as necessary for the bridal styling to encompass the overall theme; the look featured in our southern styled shoot is an embodiment of Luxmore Grande Estate!

The beautiful gown from Solutions Bridal Designer House was the perfect fit for the clean and elegant atmosphere of the Estate. The dress and bridal style melded perfectly into the rest of the décor & details. The unique floral print of the dress also brought in a chic and sophisticated new age air to the overall look.

The curated spaces, and details as a whole provided so many gorgeous opportunities for bridal portrait shots. It was hard to pick which ones were our favorites!

All in the Details // Southern Wedding

It was a culmination of the smaller details that helped breathe life into out southern inspired styled shoot. The soft hues and stationery brought vintage romance, while the fashionable addition of Antonio Milani pumps gave just the right hint of modern edginess.

Photos: JP Pratt, Floral: Flowers by Lesley, Calligraphy: Andi Mejia

While big décor items and spaces are important, it is often times the smaller details that can really stand out for a wedding. An intricately crafted wedding invitation suite, a handwritten note, or the perfect shot of your designer bridal shoes are the small things that can make your grand vision a reality!

Featured Inventory :: Ocean

The cake, provided by Bakers Cottage Cakes, display was inspired by the idea of an old southern home. The antique furniture echoed the welcome set-up and brought a little old world charm. The floral around the cake overflowed and felt like a lush southern garden brought indoors. The shelf accents also played with mixing old and new vibes, and style.

Reception Tablescape // Southern Wedding

If you know our team, you’re well aware that we LOVE a well designed and thought out reception tablescape – from the linen, to the floral, and all the way to the china + flatware, the RW ladies are all about the aesthetics.

The reception is the perfect opportunity to bring the wedding vision to life, and to make a bold statement guests will never forget!

The Luxmore Grande Estate ballroom was completely transformed for this elaborate reception set-up. All the details capture the theme, melding modern and classic elements all while keeping the traditional and southern character of the estate.

Rentals pictured :: Gold Flatware, China, Gold Rimmed Chargers, Gold Louis chairs

The gorgeous French blue, ivory, and gold palette was a major theme in designing the reception tablescape. The idea was to create a sleek aesthetic while still providing a soft and romantic ambiance.

The patterned napkins contrast beautifully against the solid ivory table linen, while the tall centerpieces create height and add texture. The layered china also mimics the palette by pulling in multiple tones and styles.

The sweetheart table was another beautifully designed space from our southern wedding styled shoot. The design plays off the reception tablescape but also has its own original flare, helping it stand out from the rest.

Mixing an exposed wooden table with linen is always a great way to break up the layout. It also adds diversity to the overall look.

Southern Wedding Ceremony

Last week we started a mini-series on a luxurious styled shoot we hosted with rentals + designs fit for a southern belle. In case you missed it, we started off with the first area your guests will see – the welcome station {perfect for featuring a fun welcome beverage or treat and gift + sign-in table}! This week is all about the ceremony space and making it your own.

|  CEREMONY AESTHETIC  |

This stunning space married the traditional southern wedding with a new age flare! We love the use of the magnolia leaves and other greenery in this unique arch created by Flowers by Lesley. The elegant Gold Louis chairs, from RW Events, had an old world charm that popped against all the greenery on the Luxmore Estate Patio.

Your wedding ceremony is arguably the most important part of the entire event, and the most intimate. Collaborate with your vendors and don’t be afraid to dream up something bold and unique smile emoticon While creating an area that reflects both the bride and groom is important, this space is also a precursor to your reception. The design here is a great way to give your guests a glimpse of what’s to come!

The Welcome | Southern Wedding

While we have seen Luxmore Grande Estate styled in so many ways, at its core it will always be an elegant southern estate. That is why we are so excited to share to share this stunning modern take on a southern wedding with you!! Over the coming weeks we’ll be breaking down a luxurious styled shoot we hosted and chatting about all the details that make this fit for a southern belle ❤️ We’re starting off with the first thing your guests will see – a welcome station!

Welcoming your guests in style!

We love the soft blues and neutrals used in this color palette for a wedding welcome station. The antique rentals echoed the traditional southern charm, while accents such as the gold geometric vases brought a modern edge. The clean floral also added a sleek finish while still feeling classic.

Featured Inventory :: Winter, Oates, & assorted vases + mirror

Putting together a unique and personalized wedding welcome station for guests is a great way to make them feel at home during your event! Your guests are your closest family and friends and they are excited to celebrate with you. So a thoughtful welcome station is the perfect way to greet them!

Photos: JP Pratt | Floral: Flowers by Lesley | Calligraphy: Andi Mejia

Have fun with creating your welcome area, and use meaningful details to tie it back into the rest of your décor & theme. Floral accents can play of your bouquets and centerpieces, while accessories can accent your color palette. Personalized touches such as a customized welcome sign can bring the entire space together.

Stay tuned for more details from the reception space, our grand entryway, and a sweet cake display!

Grand Staircase | Luxmore Grande Estate

Our grand staircase is one of the most stunning and talked about features of Luxmore Grande Estate.

It’s a major reason current owners decided to purchase the property and turn it into the beautiful event space it is today! Our grand staircase makes for an absolutely breathtaking entrance, creating a dramatic statement as guests arrive for your big day!

Photography opportunities on the staircase are endless! We see wedding photographers create truly memorable moments with brides and grooms on the grand staircase. It also provides the perfect canvas to play around with décor and styling, making this area customizable for each Luxmore Grande Estate wedding. Indoor Ceremony // Luxmore Grande

While Luxmore Grande Estate boasts some beautiful outdoor scenery it is so unique in that it is one of the few venues of its kind that can house larger events inside. The Grande Ballroom can host weddings of up to almost 200 while still feeling warm and homey. While the estate room can provide a stunning ceremony option for more intimate events, the library and double staircase offer unique backdrops.

So Much More than Four Walls
What could be more classic than a ballroom wedding? For a while it seemed indoor affairs were taking a back seat to the growing popularity of outdoor weddings. But indoor is making a come back as fashion forward brides are looking to create new trends and breathe new life into timeless backdrops.

The right space can create a sense of intimacy, elegance, and reflect personal style. Walls reflect the memories of the events they host, and what better way to celebrate with your closest friends and family than to do so in a venue that feels like home.

Photo: Ais Portraits

Find a Space & Make It Yours
Another considerable aspect of an indoor ceremony is often times you are given a great blank canvas. Sometimes with outdoor spaces it can be hard to personalize and separate it from events that have been done before. Indoor spaces offer unique opportunities for draping, hanging décor, and lighting that can be difficult without walls or a ceiling to play off of.

Particularly with Luxmore Grande, all of our unique spaces and interiors foster creativity from our couples and planners. Our chandeliers are the perfect centerpieces for ceiling drapes, while our archways look beautiful adorned with floral. The antique bar and mantles offers themselves as great conversation pieces, while the foyer is a statement as soon as your guests walk through the doors. However, even with all of this it allows our brides and grooms the ability to showcase their own tastes and visions.

Photo: KT Crabb Photography

Beautiful Rain or Shine
The last and arguably most practical reason to love an indoor space is no matter the weather your day can be stunning. Outdoor venues are gorgeous but only weather permitting. A tent is a great back up but not always the ideal look or feel the couple was initially going for.

With an indoor space you know exactly what you are getting. Especially with Florida whether it rains, or there is heat wave you know what to expect and your guests will be comfortable.
