The Living Wall

Because we’re always looking for an excuse to create something new!

It typically stems from not being able to find what we need in the marketplace. And sometimes, it’s because we don’t like the options available in the market. For instance, our boredom with the traditional hedge walls prompted us to create something new + needed for our styling clients.

‚ÄúRe‚ÄĚ introducing The Living Wall!

What is the living wall and why was it created? Our owner, Tamuel Cowart, was absolutely sick of the traditional hedge walls. And we couldn’t help but share her sentiments. Traditional hedge walls were overused and didn‚Äôt compliment the events styled. In other words, our clients deserved something better. When we sketched out the Living Wall we weren’t sure of the response we’d received. So we tested it on colleagues first at Cypress Grove Estate House.

Quick list of why it’s a staff fav:

    1. Easy to assemble
    2. Fresh foliage allows us to easily fill the gaps
    3. 100% customizable
    4. Comes in various sizes
    5. Perfect for a bar, sweetheart table, or lounge backdrop

Alpacas, Anyone?

Yep, that’s an Alpaca hanging out at Cypress Grove Estate House with a floral garland. I mean, because why not?! This is one of the many reasons we absolutely love working with Kristen Weaver and her associates!

I really don’t know much about the overall theme or reason behind the shoot, we simply wanted to share this adorable photo of our new friends! There was a cool tablescape, too. Check out the full shoot here

Bridesmaid Boxes | All About Gifting

There’s nothing quite like receiving a thoughtful, well put together gift, and bridesmaid boxes are no exception. Your gal pals put a lot of work into being a bridesmaid – helping with wedding plans, hosting your bridal shower, and more! What better way to thank them than with a sweet, heartfelt gift!?

And we all know there’s only one place to get the perfect bridesmaid boxes – Miscellaneous Market ? With all sorts of goodies from home decor and beauty products to handbags and accessories, you’re sure to find something to suit each of your bridesmaids. With so many options, brides can browse the store for their favorite items or have our team create something special for you!

Bridesmaid boxes are the perfect way to thank your gal pals for all their wedding planning help. Customize boxes with items selected just for each lady.

One of the great aspects of bridal boxes is that you can customize them for each of your bridesmaids. I love the idea of all the ladies receiving a piece of jewelry to wear on wedding day, but mix things up and include one or two items chosen specifically for each lady. It’ll make them feel so loved and will add that much more personality to your gifts.

P.S. Self-care is one of my favorite hobbies, and the blush eyemask and rose quartz roller are the best (pictured above)! The eye mask is silky smooth and the roller feels so wonderful on my skin in the mornings!

All About the Social Lounge

The social lounge is the newest bridal trend and we are absolutely obsessed {you’ve probably seen lots of posts we’ve shared about them ?}! Not only does a lounge add a dramatic and chic statement to your d√©cor, but it can also serves a purpose {giving your guests a stylish area to mix and mingle} so you can feel awesome about making the investment.

Lounge furniture can offer so many unique opportunities on the big day:

  • A great area for photos, especially bridal portraits.
  • Creates a cool area near the bar for guests to enjoy during cocktail hour.
  • Place the lounge near the dance floor so guests can enjoy the show, or take a breather from all the fun!
  • The perfect addition to any photo booth backdrop.

Blush Wedding Design Inspiration | Rentals, Attire, + Details

Blush Wedding Inspiration at Cypress Grove Estate House. Bold floral gives a stunning pop of color again a white backdrop.

Blush wedding palettes are a tried and true trend that does not seem to be going anywhere. However, we do see this color design evolving with new style and ideas being introduced, allowing for blush décor to feel fresh!

Some new takes on the blush wedding we love are;

  • Modern d√©cor and accents¬†
  • Shades of pink¬†
  • The mix of blush and black¬†
  • Blush and jewel tones¬†

The classic color also lends itself well to a variety of wedding vibes. Below are four popular décor styles.

Blush decor, including a vintage dresser and upholstered chairs are subtle but give the perfect pop of color for a spring wedding.

Lounge furniture, tabletop décor, event seating, and linen are all very easy ways to incorporate blush into your design vision.

Gold decor chairs with a blush pad, specialty chargers, and velvet linen all add a sense of romance and elegance.

Beyond décor, you can also incorporate blush into other areas of your event. For example:

  • Signature Drinks¬†
  • Custom stationery¬†
  • Pink dessert and cake display¬†
  • Bridal and groom attire (if you are feeling fashion-forward!)¬†
  • Get away car! Who wouldn‚Äôt love to¬†exit¬†in their¬†perfect pink¬†chariot!¬†
Who doesn't love a blush wedding gown!? It's subtle but oh, so feminine. Not a fan of colored gowns? Try pairing the traditional white or ivory gown with blush shoes, or have your groom wear a fashion-forward blush or mauve suit.
Blush cocktails, a wedding cake, and dessert shooters are a fun and unexpected way to incorporate color into your wedding day design.

Make sure to drop us a line if you need help planning your perfectly pink day!

Bohemian Wedding Musts

Bohemian style weddings are the newest bridal trend, and they won’t be going anywhere anytime soon. A bohemian styled event is a perfect theme for the fashion-forward and trendy couple.

A boho wedding is going to incorporate a whimsical style with elements of rustic vibes and bold details. If you are wanting to go modern, some edgy detailing is great too! There’s also a distinction between West Coast Bohemian with a desert-inspired appeal and East Coast which can be more tropical inspired and modern.

Macrame, rattan, velvet, and greenery are just some of the bohemian trends. Farm tables with unique seating options and non-traditional tablescapes are essential for receptions. A lounge with bohemian style furniture and elements can create a laid back and stylish atmosphere. Calligraphy and well-placed signage can also bring in an artistic touch. If you are marrying outdoors, a unique tent such as a Sperry tent or TeePee tent can create a dramatic atmosphere, perfectly complemented with alternative décor and floral details.

Whatever your boho-style leans toward, there are some must-haves across the board, and we have all the items you could need for your Bohemian big day at our warehouse!

Trendy Tuesday | Foliage

Foliage is the new black… in the floral world, that is! Offering an interesting palette without distraction, the combination of lush blooms with leaves, vines, wispy grass, and seed pods creates an eye catching display…

Natural layers – I love this style for it’s organic and rustic look. It’s light on the flowers, but the lush greenery doesn’t disappoint! If you love this look, stay tuned later this week to see more from Nicholas + Olivia’s wedding {pictured below}.

Colorful leaves – One of my most favorite flowers {Magnolias} have leaves that are just a stunning as the flower itself, and they feature a rich emerald green on one side and a lovely amber on the other. These are great for adding a little extra pop of color to bouquets or centerpieces.

Flowy blooms – another style with an organic feel, incorporating flowy blooms + greenery creates a relaxed elegance perfect for a garden party event. This look works best when using two or three types of greenery.

5 Trends from Bridal Fashion Week

Bridal Fashion Week may have wrapped up earlier this month, but we’re still drooling over the gorgeous gowns that made their way down the runway. Check out our fashion forward coordinator’s {Miss Shadow} five favorite trends from this years shows!

Capes – No veil necessary here. Capes were all the rage on the runway for Spring. Whether you opt for a long bridal cape or a short caplet, you will add a modern element that is sure to make a statement. Best part, just like a veil you can remove it to reveal hidden details of your gown.{Left to right: Romona Kevenza, Naeem Khan and Monique Lhuillier}

V-Necklines РAlthough a deep v-neckline can seem a bit risqué, it actually can flatter the upper body and elongate a petite or short torso. Designers have mixed them up with everything from delicate lace to illusion-covered cuts to embellished fabrics to offer a soft feminine style. Pro tip: Keep that Hollywood Fashion tape handy. {Left to right: Anne Barge, Rivini and Lela Rose}

Floral РFloral has never been so prominent as they were in almost every collection for next Spring. Designers incorporated florals in several ways from floral lace to 3-D to embellished appliqués and we could be more excited to see not only floral but color as well. {Left to right: Marchesa, Jenny Packham and Ines Di Santo}

Sheer Illusion – Think sultry and sweet and this season, designers played with sheer elements ranging from embellished, modesty cutout panels to full-on see-through embroidered tops and dresses. If you want something more daring than sheer is a fabulous choice as it is revealing but still elegant. {Left to right: Ines Di Santo, J Mendel and Berta}

Off the Shoulder – Move over Strapless, shoulder details are back! Modest-meets-sexy. Designers did some incredible updates to the classic trend, including embroidered illusion necklines, floral detailing, and sleeves with peekaboo slits. {Left to right: Reem Acra, Francesca Miranda and Christos}

Desserts | Donut Den

This won top spot for my favorite desserts because um, hello? It’s a donut cake. Ever since I was little, I never was too much of a cake fan. Throughout the years, my birthday candles were stuck into donuts, ice cream, and even a Wendy’s burger once. Because of this, I love seeing other people get creative and think outside of the box for their wedding cake! Also, donuts are just delicious. -Katie

Dapper Groomsmen

A few weeks ago I blogged about some {amazingly} trendy bridesmaid dresses {check out that post here}, so today I’m sharing some of my fav picks for the guys!

  • Mismatched Attire – This trend has been going strong in the world of bridesmaid dresses, and I’m excited that it’s finally popping up in groomsmen attire! It’s a great way to let your guys show their personality, plus they can choose an outfit they’ll wear over and over again =)

  • Floral-Details
  • Monique Lhuillier Floral Halo Diamond Engagement Ring

  • East to West
  • Marquise Halo Ring

  • Double Halo
  • Tiffany Soleste Engagement Ring

  • Twisted Band
  • Clarity Engagement Ring

Artisan Cheese Displays

Brides + grooms are upping the ante this year with cheese displays. They’re usually the same old run-of-the-mill displays, but I’m loving the idea of featuring artisan cheese + a someone who specializes in cheese profiles. Guests can learn all sorts of interesting tidbits, and it makes for a great conversation starter!

Midnight Treats

One of my favorite parts of late night weddings is the treats! I’ve seen mini doughnuts, mac & cheese stations, but I’ve got to say that mini burgers/hot dogs + milkshakes are at the top of my list!

Mini ShakesMini Hamburger

Pops of Color

This year we’re all about using pops of color throughout wedding decor! The ideas is to choose a neutral color palette {think white, ivory, and gold} and then incorporate one {fabulous} bold color into things like centerpieces, cakes, and even stationery!

Bold Colors

Simple + Elegant

How perfect is this centerpiece!? I love how delicate the vases are, plus how the couple incorporated a variety of florals + textures.

Trendy Thursday {Cayenne}

I am completely obsessed with Pantone’s 2014 color, Cayenne! It’s bold enough for a summer wedding, but would also be gorgeous at a spring soiree. I’m dying to use it at a wedding, but for now I’ll have to settle for drooling over it in this inspiration board =)

Untitled 13

Trendy Thursday {2014 At a Glance}

A new year always brings new trends in the wedding world and we’re so excited to see what pops up! Some trends we’re excited to see more of {they started late in 2013} are geometric patterns, marbleized details, and old world opulence {this is totally my favorite – I adore all the gorgeous sparkly details}.

Trendy Thursday {Food Displays}

These roasted veggies looks extra delicious when they’re displayed on such a unique serving plate! If you’ve already booked your caterer, make sure you talk to them about creating unique and interactive food displays like this one {believe me, your guests will rave about it}!

Trendy Thursday { Bridal Cardigans }

With the weather cooling off, a cardigan is the perfect accessory for your bridal gown! They’re simple, pretty, and can add a fun pop of color =) If cardigans aren’t your thing, consider a shawl or fun vintage coat!

Trendy Thursday {Bouquet Alternatives}

It’s not often that you see a bride not carrying a lovely floral bouquet down the aisle. But I have to admit, that it’s a bit refreshing when you see a bride do something a bit outside the box when it comes to this bridal tradition. Here are some of my favorite alternative bouquet ideas:

  • Brooch bouquet – okay, so this is still a bouquet, but it’s a fun way to incorporate heirloom brooches from grandmothers, aunts, moms, etc.
  • Religious items – this one is my favorite =) Carrying a family bible or rosary can add lots of symbolism to your ceremony. There’s also an old Irish tradition that has the bride carrying a horseshoe for good luck {if that sounds a bit awkward, consider using a horseshoe shaped charm}.
  • Muffs – these are perfect for chilly winter days to keep your hands warm!

Trendy Thursday { Opal }

Opal is an absolutely gorgeous gemstone that’s full of vibrant colors! Not only is it gorgeous in jewelry, but if you’re an adventurous couple it can also be incorporated into decor! In it’s natural state, opal adds a unique and abstract element to tablescapes and is sure to be the talk of your guests =)

Trendy Thursday { Salt Plates }

Salt plates are something you don’t see much of at weddings. I’m not quite sure why, because they add such a unique element to the food! Salt plates can be heated up or chilled to sear seafood + meat, or to serve fruits + veggies, all with just a hint of salt.

Salt Plate

Trendy Thursday { Dapper Grooms }

Grooms + groomsmen are really incorporating some dashing looks into their wedding attire! We’ve seen all sorts of vibrant patterns and textures making their way into men’s fashion, and we certainly are not opposed! After all, the groom’s got to look just as good as his beautiful bride =)

Trendy Thursday { Apple Cider }

It’s finally starting to cool off here in Central Florida, which can only mean one thing – fall is right around the corner! I’m so excited to see some warmer color palettes {think deep reds, burnt orange, rich purples, and lots of gold} and yummy treats! One I recently came across is apple cider served in a crisp, red apple. Love!

Trendy Thursday { Naked Cakes }

I for one need lots of frosting to truly enjoy a cake, but I have to admit that these “naked cakes” still look pretty delicious! Our team has been seeing these sweet treats pop up all over the place in the wedding world, and we’re totally loving this new deconstructed look.
