Jewel Tones // Spring Inspiration

One of the things our couples love most about Cypress Grove is the Old Florida feel which is so hard to find anymore, especially in Orlando! Once surrounded by orange groves, we wanted to play into that old Florida citrus plantation feel and use the Estate’s surroundings to complement that aesthetic.

With the sunlight reflecting off gorgeous Lake Jessamine, golden rays project stunning shades of pinks and oranges which we wanted to capture in the showcased floral. The house itself stands beautifully in a crisp white with emerald green shutters to accent so the same palette was used for our linens and candy buffet. We wanted to show our couples the very landscapes they fell in love with could be implemented into their wedding day details.

We focused on rentals that our couples love to see – a unique dessert display, wood elements, and rustic chairs to complement. Our emerald buffet was the perfect accent piece to Florida Candy Buffet’s colorful display. Our Wesley farm tables and matching French Country Chairs added the southern elegance our couples love and paired wonderfully with our linen covered Captain’s tables! Incorporating two table styles adds such a fun design element 😉

Bridal Shows 101

Conquering Bridal Shows in 4 Easy Steps

So you’re attending bridal shows? So fun!!! You and your bridesmaids are ready to meet vendors and enjoy tasty treats but you don’t know exactly what to expect at the show – the RW team is here to give you some tips on what to have ready prior and what to expect on show day.

1. Know who you want to meet. Lots of show hosts will post a list of vendors that will be advertising at the show, so take a peek before hand. If you know you want to focus on florists and bakers, highlight them on the list and then check out their websites and social media to get a better idea of their style and if they could be an option for your wedding.

2. Vendors will have inquiry forms available for your to fill out if you’re interested in meeting with them. These forms vary between vendors but typically request you + your fiance’s names, contact info, wedding date, and budget. Save yourself some time by creating labels with your general event info. Then just peel off your label, stick it on, and head to the next vendor!

3. Know your availability. You may have the opportunity to book appointments at the show, so have your planner ready with available dates/times for upcoming weekends and weekdays (don’t forget – most wedding vendors will have weekend events, so availability for those appointments may be far and few between).

4. Expect a lot of people. Bridal shows are kind of like speed dating for wedding vendors – you briefly chat about general event details and move on to the next vendor 😉 Since there are so many vendors available, you can expect there to be crowds and possible wait times. Popular vendors will have busy booths, but don’t fret! If you aren’t able to chat with a certain vendor, just be sure to fill out their info sheet and they’ll follow up with you. Pro tip: decide who your “must-sees” are before the show. If there are 10 vendors you know you want to visit, prioritize them so the most important ones are taken care of first. That will help you avoid waiting and give you more time to explore the show.

Oh, and don’t forget to enjoy the show! Just like a good theme park bridal shows can be a bit overwhelming at first, but with a general plan you’ll be able to navigate the show and meet all your favorite vendors in one day 🙂

P.S. Did you know we’ll be at the Florida Wedding Expo this Sunday, January 13th? Come meet our team and see some of our amazing rentals {you can check out our venues, Cypress Grove and Luxmore, too}! Get tickets here – be sure to enter code “VENDOR” for a discount!

Make Your Wedding Unique

Most weddings have a similar structure – the ceremony followed by cocktail hour and ending with a reception. Incorporating elements that make the event unique to you and your fiance is what’s going to make the the day special and memorable! Maybe it’s your design style, your taste in cuisine, or what you enjoy doing together that will set your wedding apart from the rest. That brings me to our Cypress Grove couple, Tala + Michael. The two are amazing performers and they treated guests to a unique acro yoga routine during the reception. Did I mention these two are ah-mazing!?

How did you meet?
“We were only acquaintances when we were asked to pair together as acrobatic partners for an upcoming show at The Dr. Phillips Performing Arts Center. We agreed and began practicing together every day. We fell in love quickly and the rest is history! We did our first performance about one month after being paired together to a sold out audience of about 200 people. (And nailed it! Lol).”

Why was it important to you to include a performance at your wedding?
“Acro was a huge part of our love story. It’s how we met, how we fell in love and something that continues to keep us connected. We wanted to express and share all of those emotions through our favorite art form. Plus, we like being hams for the camera! :-P”

What challenges did you face during the planning process?
“I really can’t say I faced too many challenges. Alicia was amazing in recommending vendors and walking me through a lot of the process. Of course I stressed over details and wanting everything to be perfect. The biggest problem is probably that there are TOO many options and ideas out there and having to narrow them down!”

What aspect of the wedding were you and your fiance most looking forward to?
“Michael will tell you that he was most looking forward to the moment he first saw me coming down the aisle. For me, gosh, the entire day was pure magic. I was really looking forward to the reception. I wanted the wedding to be a celebration where we laughed and danced with all of the important people in our lives and got to shout out love out to the world. And the reception and the entire day felt just like that. It was absolutely perfect.”

Navy and White Wedding // Feature

Seeing our couples featured in magazines and wedding blogs will never get old. It’s so fun seeing their excitement about sharing their wedding planning journey with other couples! Our Cypress Grove bride + groom, Liesl & Richie, were featured on Orange Blossom Bride last week and we’re thrilled to share their classic navy and white wedding with you! A little snippet from their post:

“Liesl was a hostess. Richie was a busboy. They met working together during college, and their restaurant romance blossomed when they hit it off at a party. For their fifth dating anniversary, Richie took Liesl to Savannah, GA and filled the trip with surprises – not the least of which was a ring! Liesl wanted to marry at an old estate house or mansion, and Richie wanted to tie the knot by a lake. With it’s southern charm and waterfront view, Cypress Grove Estate House was the perfect venue for them!”

Vintage Rentals | Emerald + White Wedding ReceptionHow adorable is this pastel social lounge our styling team dreamed up!? Our vintage pieces started out at cocktail hour and then made their way to the reception later in the afternoon {so guests could rest their feet from breaking it down on the dance floor}.

Garland will forever be a favorite design element, and adding a handful of pretty flowers gives a nice pop of color!

Lovebirds Vignette | Emerald + White Wedding ReceptionThe couple hosted a super gorgeous reception featuring all sorts of lovely design elements {and a yummy, plated meal} – gold chargers, simple {but stunning} florals on guest tables, and calligraphed table numbers.

Real Wedding | Eva + Jeff

Just last week we helped Eva + Jeff celebrate their marriage at the always stunning Cypress Grove Estate House. 30 of their closest family + friends attended the lakeside soiree, where the couple hosted a sweet ceremony followed by an elegant reception with dinner + dancing.

Eva utilized the sunshine-filled bridal suite at Cypress Grove to capture some stunning shots of her gown, bouquet, and other bridal accessories before getting ready for the ceremony. The bride’s bouquet, from Flowers by Lesley, had two very sweet personalized touches – a rosette made from her dad’s shirt and lace from her gown {used to wrap the stems}.

Bride + Flower GirlCypress Grove Estate House Lakeside CeremonyFrom the bride: “We wanted our event to be light and romantic. The Richards did a wonderful job at capturing that feeling and all the vendors helped in making it a great day. Rachel {our coordinator} was absolutely amazing in helping me with the small details and organization. I would definitely recommend to any future bride to have fun and let it be easy. I had a great time planning and truly enjoyed my entire wedding day and felt extremely relaxed and taken care of by the entire staff. I could not have asked for a better day!”

Cypress Grove Estate House ReceptionOne of our favorite details was the couple’s wedding cake, created by The Sugar Suite! It incorporated delicate gold scrolling and hand crafted pink peonies {and was almost too pretty to eat}.

Sneak Peek | Lauren + Derek

There’s nothing we love more than a good sneak peek! Lauren was the sweetest, most thoughtful and organized bride I think we’ve ever had. And Derek was absolutely hilarious – a complete goofball. I mean, instead of your standard “Mother & Son” dance, Derek and his momma did a rap-style lip sync on the dance floor (photo proof below)!
